mole map-- find out what that mole on your face or body means
mole map-- find out what that mole on your face or body means
RED colored words are positive
BLACK colored words are negative
feel free to add your own notes
this word "凶" shows up a lot in the mole map. it refers to a non-specific unlucky thing. according to the text to the left of the drawing of the girl, it could mean bad luck in your career, marital troubles, losing money, a sickly body, your friends are gonna bring you troubles (like they'll borrow money from you), etc..
i grokked this mole map from a mole buster's night market stall in taipei. the mole-buster's mobile number is on the lower right of the flyer. call him to arrange for a mole-removing session (in case your mole happens to mean something unlucky).

Batgirl?
Batgirl?
If Batgirl was living in the Victorian age, would she look like this? She even has the bat "logo" on her chest! XD But I think the skirt, the dainty bat-shoes and the corsetted waist would be problematic for night time crime fightings? But on other hand, skin-tight outfit and high heels are the standard of today's super heroines, might also be uncomfortable.
I wonder if the bats on her shoes are the batarangs?

A year of sunsets
from Krazydad / jbum. Great idea!
"A year of sunsets
Flickr has a lot of sunset photographs. Too many, some would say.
To build this graph I collected just a few of them, by searching for photos that have been tagged “Sunset”.
I collected only 100 photos from the hundreds posted each day of the preceding 365 days, so that the photos are evenly distributed across the past year. There are over 35,000 photos shown in the graph.
I positioned each photo horizontally according to the day it was taken, and vertically according to the hour it was taken.
By making each photo translucent, I created a “hot spot” which shows when the most photos were taken, each day of the past year.
The bright band shows the approximate time of sunset for each day. You can see that as the year progresses, the time of the sunset changes.
The deepest dip in the band corresponds to the summer solstice (about June 22), and the highest part of the band corresponds to the winter solstice (about December 22).
This is the second time I’ve graphed the curve of the sunsets using Flickr sunsets. The first time, over a year ago, I used all the photos then available, which produced a more inconsistent looking graph.

Miss Ben Yusuf Announces a Private View of Photographs at Her Studio
Zaida Ben-Yusuf
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Zaida Ben-Yusuf (1869-1933) was an American portrait photographer. Ben-Yusuf was born in London to an Algerian Muslim father and a German mother of Algerian descent. She immigrated to New York in 1897.
Ben-Yusuf was noted for portraits of the wealthy, fashionable, and famous Americans of the period. In 1891 the Ladies Home Journal featured her in a group of six photographers that it dubbed, "The Foremost Women Photographers in America." [1] A photo essay of a trip she took to Japan was published in the Saturday Review.
In 2008 the Smithsonian National Portrait Gallery mounted an exhibition of Ben-Yusuf's work, aiming to "recover" the work of an artist who had fallen from memory. [2]
