Book Corner: Mexicana!

Another great Taschen book, this time focusing on Mexican ephemera. Durable, affordable, nicely printed, Taschen books are hard to resist.

You know Green Apple books in SF? (Clement I think...). They always seemed to have Tascen overstock at crazy good prices.

The cover art is so appealing, real travelouge stuff. I noticed too that with all the Kahlo work that's popular (yet again) I was kinda taken aback to see a Mexicana in traditional hair braids SMILING, and not you know, eviscerated and with a monobrow.

I'm just saying...

sure, I go to Green Apple all the time. Love it! Do you go there too? They have some good sales on now, they have Jessica Helfland's Wheel Book fpr $10, and Ed Fella's Photos of American Letters for $20 (down from $50). I just wish Green Apple would add a cafe and some breathing room. Yeah, we need to balance out the Frida stuff. : )

Wild - just saw this in our local Old Navy when shopping for kids jeans. They also caried the "Book of Tiki" which should stoke your Hawaiiana kick. Taschen rocks!

Someone's thinking at Old Navy–I can't resist soft–cover Taschen books at the register. Impulse purchase! Not my fault.
